It's hard to say without seeing it. It also depends on how long the rent will stay at that rate and if you personally have the skills to do these. It all sounds very time consuming to me.

Heck no! your renting!!!! I’d tell the guy you’ll do al the renovations and that will be done in lieu of rent…When your done and can provide him with invoices …then you can pay rent…but to do all that AND pay rent.Thats nuts!!!!!! Your saving the owner a ton of money while he’s takign you for a run with yours. no Ma’am!

It depends on where you live. If it were in California I would say it is a great deal. If you lived in my state, I would say the deal isn’t bad but you might want to keep looking. Personally, I would never pay rent and fix up a property that someone else owns. With the way you described the property it would be illegal to rent in my city.

That is cheap for a 20 year mortgage. If the roof is sound and you have a CO and the walls are good and the electrical and you want to live there. Go for it.

I don't think you should get it because all the work you will be doing on that house will be way more then the rent .. trust me I work at a hardware store.
