How can I convert a hanging file cabinet (has side rails only) to a drawer-like system for more storage option

I bought a hanging file cabinet that only has side file to hang file folders from. If i want to store anything aside from file folders I’m out of luck. Anything i can insert or do to change from a hanging file draw to a standard box-like draw?

You can get bars that hang the long way in the drawer, with cross bars front to back to created three sections of front to back hanging files. Contact the manufacturer of the product, they ususally have these extra hanging bars available. Otherwise, look for drawer organizers to insert into the drawer. Look at Williams of Sonoma online: go to ‘Homekeeping’ then to Kitchen Organization. There you will find a Maple Expandable drawer organizer, and a Modular Drawer Organizer.
