I bought a hanging file cabinet that only has side file to hang file folders from. If i want to store anything aside from file folders I’m out of luck. Anything i can insert or do to change from a hanging file draw to a standard box-like draw?

You can get bars that hang the long way in the drawer, with cross bars front to back to created three sections of front to back hanging files.
